NSD Repertory Summer Theatre Festival 2025 – A Grand Opening!

The National School of Drama expresses heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Shri Vivek Agarwal, for inaugurating the festival as Chief Guest. His inspiring address at Abhimanch Auditorium energised the entire NSD fraternity.

“We envision a collaborative effort between NSD and the Ministry to take theatre to every corner of India — and across Delhi,” he said, also hinting at multi-location editions of future festivals and new regional centres for artist training.

NSD Director Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy echoed this vision and lighting the lamp during the inaugural ceremony.

Opening night featured Thieves’ Carnival — a witty Hindi adaptation of Jean Anouilh’s classic, translated by V.K. Sharma and brought to life by Shri Avtar Sahni.
