The course starts from mid July 2014 and aims\u00a0at training students to become professionals in the area of acting,\u00a0design and other theatre related disciplines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY:<\/strong><br \/>Essential Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">1. Graduation in any subject from a recognized University in India<br \/>&amp; abroad.<br \/>2. Participation in at least 6 theatre productions.<br \/>3. Working knowledge of Hindi &amp; English.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AGE LIMIT<\/strong> as on 1.7.2014 Minimum 20 years Maximum 30 years.\u00a0The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC \/ ST candidates only.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESERVATION FOR SC\/ST\/OBC:<\/strong><br \/>Out of 26 seats, 4 seats are reserved for candidates belonging\u00a0to the scheduled castes; 1 seat for scheduled tribes and 5 seats\u00a0for OBC (except Creamy Layer as notified by the Government)\u00a0as per Govt. of India rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SELECTION:<\/strong><br \/>An Expert Committee constituted by the School will assess the\u00a0aptitude and talent of the candidates &amp; its decision will be final.<br \/>Any CANVASSING in this regard will be treated as a disqualification.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:<\/strong> Hindi \/ English<\/p>\n<p>CENTRE(S) FOR PRELIMINARY TEST\/AUDITION AND FINAL<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKSHOP:<\/strong><br \/>A preliminary test\/audition will be conducted at five centres i.e.\u00a0Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai &amp; Guwahati. The candidates<br \/>qualifying in this test will have to attend a workshop of 4 or 5\u00a0days in the NSD premises for final selection. For this workshop,<br \/>they will be paid D.A. and II class train \/ bus fare from the place\u00a0of their residence to Delhi &amp; back by the shortest route on<br \/>submission of the ticket\/ cash receipt and will also be provided\u00a0accommodation on a modest sharing basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINANCIALASSISTANCE:<\/strong><br \/>All selected students will be given scholarship of Rs. 6000\/-\u00a0p.m. to meet their academic and other expenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL FITNESS:<\/strong><br \/>The students selected for admission will have to undergo a\u00a0medical test for physical fitness at NSD, New Delhi. Their final<br \/>selection is subject to clearance of the fitness test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOW TO APPLY:<\/strong><br \/>To receive the application form and prospectus (in English &amp; Hindi)\u00a0by post, please write to The Academic Section, National School\u00a0of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New\u00a0Delhi\u2013110001 along with a crossed Demand Draft\/Pay Order,<br \/>payable at Delhi, of Rs. 225\/- (Rupees two hundred twenty five\u00a0only) including postal charges in favour of The Director, National<br \/>School of Drama, New Delhi. Request for receiving the\u00a0application form by post should reach the School by 30.03.2014.<\/p>\n<p>The application form &amp; prospectus will also be available from the\u00a0Book Shop of the National School of Drama from 15.03.2014 to<br \/>15.04.2014 on cash payment of Rs. 150\/- between 10.00 A.M.\u00a0to 1.00 P.M. &amp; 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M. on working days.\u00a0The application form can also be downloaded from the school website\u00a0www.nsd.gov.in from 20.03.2014. The downloaded application form\u00a0must be sent along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 150\/- in favour of The\u00a0Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi in an envelope\u00a0titled \u2018Application for Admission\u20142014-2017\u2019. Forms sent in\u00a0envelopes without DD\/Payorder will not be entertained.<\/p>\n<p>Application forms dully filled in &amp; complete in all respects\u00a0must reach The Academic Section, National School\u00a0of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road,\u00a0New Delhi\u2013110001 on or before 15.04.2014.<\/p>\n<p>No application\u00a0form will be entertained after the last date.\u00a0Candidates may apply for the course irrespective of the\u00a0no. of previous attempts made if they are not more than\u00a030 years (35 years in case of SC\/ST candidates) as on\u00a01.7.2014.
