Sab Kuch Chakachak
On the 8th and 15th of September the play Sab Kuch Chakachak was staged at the Ved Vyas DAV Public School (Vikaspuri) and Jesus and Mary College, respectively.
This story is about 5 children studying in an affluent public school in Indrapuram, Ghazaibad. One of these children, Harish, is the son of a farmer who lives in Bajheda, a nearby village. These children are given a task by their teacher to make a presentation on the topic ‘Future India’. As they start rehearsing, a series of incidents reveal certain realities. These happenings change their perspective towards the idea of progress and development. Connected to the broader contexts of globalization, liberalization and the more immediate aspects of displacement, this play written by Ms. Vibhawari Deshpande and directed by Ms. Kirti Jain is a sensitive and poignant reflection of disturbing realities of our world today.

Hello to Myself
From 15th to 19th December 2008, the artistes of the Company went on a tour to Kolkata where they performed their play, Hello to Myself, devised and directed by Tripurari Sharma, at the Nandikar Theatre Festival, Kolkata.
The ‘devised’ play dealt with the issue of knowing oneself better and befriending one’s uniqueness. It gives us the feel of the immense and intense intricacies of growing children – the many complexes that are present within them for valid reasons of their own; the umpteen moments of happiness and failures; the multiple attempts by these children to overcome all these hurdles, and most of all, of the sense of triumph experienced by these children when these hurdles are overcome.
Rajinder Sharma ‘Nanu’ was Assistance Director and the play was devised and directed by Tripiurari Sharma. |
