SYNOPSIS
The play Beptakdi Boleshankara is based on Tolstoy’s short story ‘Ivon the Fool’. Saitan the head of Naraka (hell) orders three of his fellow devils to go to Bhooloka and to destroy the relationship of the three brothers – Beptakdi, Saradara and Savkara and to bring them to Naraka. Except Beptakdi the two brothers easily yield to the devils’ temptation. Beptakdi who believes in work is worship does not surrender to the devils, rather he gets three favors from them and becomes a king. The devils cannot tolerate the name of Lord Shiva and die. At last Saitan himself comes to ruin Beptakdi and fails in his attempt. He also dies at the end. The three brothers live happily.
